The Blogging Dog - Why We Don't Breed Discriminate.

When we opened TKOF, we decided we would take all shapes and sizes of canines - as long as the owners had a genuine desire to provide a great life for the dog. There are several schools of the thought on breed discrimination - or, better put...not accepting Pit Bull Terriers or American Bulldogs. In some cases, it even extends to Rottweilers around here. I understand that some handlers lack the experience of handling the larger bully breeds - but we are still talking dogs. I mean.....if your son grew up to outweigh and outmuscle you by the age of 16 - would you just stop disciplining him? Would you not want to guide him even more?.....keep him out of harms way?.....

These breeds live in our area. Pit Bulls dominate each and every shelter in my county, so why not reach out and educate the owners? Support the positive and make an impact if possible? I pride myself in being certified through Texas Dog Training - so I take pride in exercising those skills on all shapes, breeds, and ages. That is why we don't breed discriminate, because they are a part of our community. Who discriminates against their own?
