Practical Dog Training

When we originally opened TKOF we had an occasional training session for our clients out here where we covered some common issues that most owners face. I still get several training requests monthly and I dont know a better way to help the clients (and even non clients) I have than to offer a monthly training session covering different obstacles that owners are having. These will be free. I will have to limit the number of participants for each one, and you WONT bring your dog. Instead we will discuss the specific training issue for that session and I will demonstrate the best and most practical way that I know of to overcome that obstacle. Remember that l mainly work off leash and do not physically punish, so these will be my methods that work for me in real life settings. Group training (with your dog) is difficult due to the number of dogs and varying owner temperaments and experience levels in training - as well as a common embarrassment of the owner that either limits owner participation, or ends up in the handler missing the information they originally came to get.

I am looking forward to offering these sessions, and encouraging handlers to work on their abilities to control basic tasks. We will cover things like puppy behaviors and how to correct a puppy, how to socialize a dog with limited skills, how to control barrier aggressions and vocalization (barking), potty training, etc. I am also open to suggestions. I am looking forward to offering these in an open air setting where we can all be safe and learn how to be better handlers of our pets. I hope you'll consider joining us for one!
